An Update On The Hearing Protection Act - Suppressors Over The Counter!

The Hearing Protection Act of 2015, H.R. 3799 Sponsored by Rep. Matt Salmon (R, AZ) and cosponsored by 82 other representatives has hit a milestone becoming the fifth most viewed bill!

For those who do not know what it is yet, the HPA removes the IRS $200.00 tax stamp required for purchasing a suppressor and treats any person purchasing a suppressor as meeting any registration and licensing requirements of the National Firearms Act.

What this means for gun consumers is they will be able to buy a suppressor from the gun store of their choice without the undue burden of the tax stamp.  Once the HPA passes you can get your suppressor with just the standard NICS background check; no more tax stamp, trust or LEO signature or 6-9 month wait!

This is important news for the millions of gun owners who shoot regularly and will be able to use a suppressor to protect their hearing.  Stay tuned and we will post more updates as they become available.
